Our regular monthly meetings are held on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 7:30 pm. Join us at Calvary Presbyterian Church at 3400 Lemay Ferry Rd, St. Louis, MO 63125 for demos, contests, auctions and comraderie. |
Once again, Tony Kirks' Hitter's Choice Cages hosts IPMS-Gateway's Gateway to the West Contest and Swap Meet. The annual event will occur on September 11, 2010 from 9:00-5:00. Like last year, there will be a Make-and-Take and raffle. Follow the links to learn more! |

Our next meeting on Sept. 21 is another Modeler of the Year contest. This month's theme will be "The Italians are Coming." Anything Italian qualifies for the special theme. Also anticipate a slide show review of either the Regionals or our own show. |

It's Picnic Time!!
September 12, the day after the Contest, we will spend the afternoon winding down with a well deserved rest. Join us at Charles Forrester Park in Venita Park at about 12 noon. Welcome to IPMS Gateway!!!
The Gateway Chapter IPMS was formed by a small group of St. Louis area modelers in late 1975, and received its IPMS/USA charter in 1976. Meetings were held in a small room at the Des Peres Hobby Shop, with Del Miller as the Club's first president. Since then, the Club has grown to sixty or seventy members.
Club sponsored activities include a variety of model contests at monthly meetings, model displays, kit raffles, swap meets, an annual banquet and an annual picnic. The common interests among club members have created "Road Trips" to various modeling conventions, as well as to air shows and museums throughout the country.
You will find many benefits as a member of IPMS Gateway. They include admittance to all club functions (including business meetings), and also eligibility to enter all local club contests. You will also receive the monthly newsletter, THE ARCH SCALER NEWS, delivered to your home or e-mail inbox before the general club meeting. Club membership is honored at area hobby shops with some shops providing small discounts on purchases to members. Hobby shops require you show your current membership card to receive your discount.
Of course there are many intangible benefits from belonging to IPMS Gateway, such as sharing of modeling techniques, reference materials, trips, kit swapping and, in general, the camaraderie of friends who share your enjoyment of plastic modeling and the subjects modeled. I hope you enjoy your membership and invite you to participate in all club activities.
